edtech teacher Rocketship Education is springing into action and giving the EdTech controls back to the teacher. This measure was implemented following a 2012 PBS report of Rocketship Education's education and learning lab practices suggested that "teachers did not know enough about what was happening in the learning labs."

According to a recent edSurge article, Rocketship sought to move away from purely adaptive learning programs and toward giving teachers more control over what digital learning content gets assigned and when it is assigned.

It should be noted that these models are applied to open classrooms, sometimes as large as 115 students. That's quite a stark contrast to your typical 20-30 student brick-and-mortar settings.
