For many of you, the 2013-2014 school year is starting within the next three weeks. That means, if your state adopted the Common Core State Standards, the CCSS integration deadline is only one year away. With the deadline so near, do you feel like your curriculum adequately prepares students for the new standards?
If not, you're not alone. We've been helping schools prepare and master the Common Core standards using digital resources over the past two years, and have used the experiences to put together a free eBooklet, "How to Select the Best Digital Common Core Content" to help you, your fellow staff members, and your school get your Common Core integration journey started on the right path!
Enhance instruction and engagement with Common Core-based Digital Content
We don't have to tell you that the Common Core State Standards present significant challenges for all stake-holders (students, teachers, and administrators), whether it be increased rigor, heightened accountability, or the new application of technology and higher-order learning activities.
Our new eBooklet seeks to help you and your fellow staff members identify these challenges and then use the challenges to shape your search for the digital Common Core content that will best meet the needs of the students and your school.
The booklet includes:
- a break down of the challenges facing students, teachers, and administrators
- a list of five questions to which your CCSS-based content must answer "yes"
- effective characteristics and features to look for and negative traits to avoid during your search
